Get started by performing the following steps:

  1. Click "Connect to Instagram" to connect your Instagram profile. Facebook requires that it is a business profile on Instagram and that you are have a role on the connected Facebook page.

  2. Choose a license hashtag (we recommend something short that reinforces your brand). Do not choose a generic or widely used hashtag like #yes.

  3. If you want to avoid including a link to terms & conditions in each request for permission, update your bio to include a link to the @terms.media Instagram account.

At this point, you'll be set up and ready to review any content being posted to Instagram that mentions your handle in the caption or a comment. We recommend checking daily to review new mentions.

Let's take a look at how to work with mentions and conversations:

And once you've made a successful request through Tack, let's look at how to work with approvals and make requests directly on the Instagram website or mobile app:

Tip: Any request for permission must either include a link to terms.media/ or mention that the terms are in your bio (e.g., [Terms in bio]). We recommend adding the following to your bio:
License Terms: @terms.media

When requesting rights to use the content, make sure to personalize each comment to the photo. Instagram doesn't like spammy or repetetive comments. Include the request to share the photo as part of your comment. For example, "The yellow in those sunflowers really pops in this photo. Can we share it on our pages? Please reply #yesbrand to agree. [Terms in bio]"
